Applying for specific positions
Glen Lake Camp strives to place summer staffers in positions in which they may succeed, grow, and glorify God through leadership. All qualified applicants are considered for appropriate positions. Glen Lake Camp will offer positions to applicants. If you are interested in a specific position and want to make sure the full time staff is aware of your desire to lead, you can email your specific request to summerstaff@glenlake.org.
Lead Staff (at least 2 full years out of high school by May 1, 2012)
The Lead Staff includes one female lead, one male lead, and one worship leader. This staff leads the Support Staff, the Cabin Staff, and the Host Staff for the entire summer. Applicants for Lead Staff must have the leadership skills necessary to mentor, lead, and motivate the entire Summer Staff. Glen Lake Camp prefers the Lead Staff have experience in camp ministry and in leading groups. Second year (or greater) applicants will be considered first, but first year applicants are not automatically excluded. These positions require a full summer commitment.
Support Staff (at least 1 full year out of high school by May 1, 2012)
The Support Staff includes the Craft/Camp Store Manager, Recreation Assistant, Videographer, Office Assistant, Zipline/Climbing Wall Manager, and Camp Nurse. Leadership skills are also a plus for these positions. Each position calls for a staff member interested in the specifics of each job. These jobs also require heavy responsibility and direct contact with the camp’s full time staff. If you do not like managing or working with a team, DO NOT APPLY for these positions. These positions require a full summer commitment.
Cabin Staff (at least 1 full year out of high school by May 1, 2012)
The Cabin Staff live and lead the campers full time during camp. Each cabin will have two Cabin Staff members. Cabin Staff lead the daily devotions and small group activities for their campers. Glen Lake Camp offers two sessions for Cabin Staff members. Please see training schedule for details on date commitments for Cabin Staff. Note: Can be combined with Host Staff
Host Staff (5 positions for applicants having completed, at least, Junior year of high school and 8 positions for applicants at least 1 full year out of high school by June 3, 2012)
The Host Staff will serve alongside the Lead and Support Staff to host churches as we provide the summer camp experience for their respective groups. The job includes, but is not limited to, leading activities, serving meals, and cleaning/setting up meeting spaces. Please see training schedule for details on date commitments for Host Staff. Family Camp Staff (2 positions for applicants having completed, at least, Junior year of high school and 3 positions for applicants at least 1 full year out of high school by June 3, 2012)
Glen Lake Camp provides Family Camp four times in the summer at our Still Water Lodge facility. We are hiring five Family Camp Staff members to provide worship, activities, and meals to the participants. These camps are offered Thursday-Saturday four times this summer. Please see training schedule for details on a mandatory spring training and the camp dates.
Kitchen Staff (2 positions for applicants having completed, at least, Junior year of high school by June 3, 2012)
The Kitchen Staff will serve in the dining hall under the leadership of the Director of Food Services. The Kitchen Staff is hired for both session one and session two. The team will serve where needed in the dining hall. Duties include, but are not limited to, food preparation, service, and cleanup.
