The LINK program is an opportunity for current juniors and seniors in high school to serve as leaders in an elementary or jr. high camp session. We are looking for youth that are: a positive Christian role-model, responsible, mature, helpful, fun, positive, servant oriented, and active in their church.
LINKs work hand in hand with both the volunteers and Glen Lake staff to provide the best camping experience possible for all campers. they stay in the cabins (along with the adults), help with Bible studies, provide leadership in activities (hikes, crafts, canoes, etc.) and most importantly, establish a genuine relationship with the campers.
The process for becoming a LINK starts with filling out an application by January 1st. All applicants are required to attend the training held in February 12th - 13th here at Glen Lake Camp. The goal of this time together is to get to know the applicants better, go over the responsibilities, and take them through scenarios that they might encounter as a LINK.
After careful evaluation, those that meet the criteria listed above will enter the program. They will then give us their preferences as to which camp or age level they want to work. Second year LINKs are given priority when camp sessions are assigned. Those that do well in the program are invited to come back the next summer.
