A Day at the Challenge Course
A day at the Glen Lake Challenge Course can consist of spending half a day just doing the low ropes course, or making it a full day and doing both the low ropes course and the zip line! Here is a brief description of each to give you a better idea of what would be right for your group:
Low Ropes: The low ropes course consists of a variety of ground level initiatives designed to bring a team together and work on the different issues groups face, as mentioned above. All of the initiatives are concrete tasks that involve problem solving through teamwork. The tasks themselves, while fun and often challenging, aren't as important as the process and outcome of what the group itself does. The interaction of the group, the process they use to solve the problem, and the final outcome, are all examined by the group after each initiative. What we believe at Glen Lake Challenge Course is that learning through experience is great, but unless you stop to reflect on that experience, you don't gain anything from it. So we reflect on what we do, discuss it, so we can then take it and apply it to real life!

Zip line: The zip line starts with the participant on the ground, where they then climb 35-40 feet in the air to the zip line platform. That is where they are hooked into the zip line and sent off to enjoy the ride! The challenges associated with the zip line are more individual ones, but there is still a place for encouragement, support from the group, and teamwork. Some of the challenges the individual will face, such as building confidence, risk taking, and over coming fears, can be addressed in a safe team environment that allows for growth and development within the group.

If your group isn't up for the zip line, but would still like to add something extra to your day, we do have an indoor climbing wall that can be booked as a part of the challenge course program. Click on the link for more information and pictures.
Other Adventure Learning Activities
If your group is interested in completing our ropes course, be sure to visit our adventure ministry page to find out about other adventure learning activities we offer. All of these additional opportunities will build on what your group has accomplished at the ropes course. These activities include: full day rock climbing trips, canoeing trips, hiking, group cooking, and tent camping (primitive). All of these activities will be facilitated by one of our challenge course staff in a way that allows your group to grow and be transformed through each adventure.
If you are a corporate group looking for a team-building and leadership opportunity or retreat for your employees, visit our corporate team-building and adventure retreat page to see what we can offer you!

Custom Programs
We can customize any program to fit your groups needs. Whether you are an adult leadership group needing to discover real teamwork together or a youth group wanting to learn about serving others with your gifts and talents, we are here to help! Whatever the reason for your visit, we can design a program around the needs of your group. Just give us a call and let us know what you want to set up!
We also offer these pre-designed programs for your group:
Adventures in Leadership
An experiential approach to understanding leadership within a group context. We will explore qualities of an effective leader, who is responsible for offering leadership within a group, and other ideas associated with this.
Fundamentals of Team-building
Whether your group is just forming and needs that initial get-to-know-you experience or you’ve been working together for years but need to become a more effective team, this program focuses on qualities that make up a good team.
Strengths Quest
Everyone has a unique personality that helps determine the way they do things and without being able to recognize those personality traits in each other, sometimes things can get a little chaotic. This program will allow groups to discover strengths and weaknesses in each other, and find out more about their own personality.
Whether you choose to spend your day just on the low ropes course or add in the zip line and other adventure activities, we want to design our program to fit exactly what your group is aiming to accomplish. Whether you are a youth group wanting your students to learn about teamwork, or a corporate group wanting your employees to learn about problem solving and risk taking, we will design the day to fit your particular group!
We can come to you
Are you having a conference or meeting that is in need of ice-breaker or team building activities? Then we can come to you with some of our portable initiatives.
Developing leadership skills and building an effective team is an on-going process, so we encourage continuing learning opportunities for our participants. We offer year round programming to allow groups to do this. You can combine any of our programs or activities over a period of time so that your group continues to evolve and grow from the adventure learning experience. We want to partner with you to bring your group or organization the training and skills it needs to carry out its purpose.
